Dog Crate Upstairs And Downstairs

"

I need to know if we need one for upstairs and downstairs. i really don't want to lug a 50lb crate up and down the stairs everyday. or, do we leave the crate upstairs, near us at night and then downstairs pen off an area with a dog bed toys water etc.. Best answer: i crated my dogs downstairs when they were pups. they were only in their crates for a couple of hours a day when one of us was not home. we chose downstairs because we didn't want two adult-sized great dane crates upstairs. but as i said, they were only crated a couple of hours a day. they had. Today i bought an adorable 9 week old bichon frise puppy. ive been told that it is better for a dog to sleep downstairs crated up, but we dont have a crate at the moment so ive put her in our small laundry room and blocked off the door..

One started out as plastic (i have several sizes and just kept switching them out as riley grew), before switching to a soft crate in the bedroom, the downstairs crate was wire. eventually we dispensed with crates altogether and he has his dog beds, upstairs and downstairs.. While our dog was a puppy, she had two crates. one was in our bedroom upstairs, so she could be near us during the night. the other was downstairs next to the back door, and she stayed there when we left to go shopping or to run errands.. Over the last two nights i've brought his crate upstairs and had it beside my bed, and i'd say it's worked pretty well and because he's been very tired he so has made no fuss and settled. i've had to settle him a little bit like cuddle and then put him in the crate though..
